Just to prove we are enormously versatile (!) here are some chocolate cupcakes we baked for 14 hens over here for a few days of naughtiness before settling down to wedded bliss – Puerto Banus, watch out! P.s…. it is a well know fact that cupcakes are a miracle hangover cure ;)

We have been enjoying the beautiful Spanish cherries for a good few weeks now, but as yet haven’t posted any pics – so here are some extra cupcakes (accidentally on purpose!) we had left over from an order for a customer today – one of the perks of the job ;) Jen told me to title this post ‘life’s a bowl of cherries’, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to :o

I was absolutely satisfied with cupcakes I ordered with “Cake Marbella”! Not only they tasted really delicious, on the next day my friends were calling me asking if there were still something left from the party, but they also looked fantastic. The colourful cupcake tower was with no doubt the main attraction of the evening, making me a very  happy host! Thank you and I will definitely be back to order more.¨

Just about now, 36 hungry 10 year old’s will be devouring these paintball themed carrot cake cupcakes at Swan’s School in Marbella – Happy Birthday, Jonathan!

The new and very stylish Avanto Restaurant, (Torrenueva Playa, La Cala de Mijas) are having their official opening party tonight, and I have just returned having set up a tower of 150 Red Velvet and Chocolate cupcakes in their beautiful restaurant overlooking the beach. I have not eaten there yet, but it is definitely next on my list!

36 eight year-old’s were in for a chocolatey treat today, as Luca’s mum (the lovely Daniela at Ristorante Regina, Nueve Andalucia) called us to bake three dozen of our finest Chocolate Cupcakes for Luca’s 8th birthday celebrations at school – ¡Feliz Cumpleaños, Luca!

The stunning Hotel Villa Padierna, Marbella is the venue this evening for a wedding reception for 100 guests, who will be wined and dined and dance on another of Marbella’s balmy September evenings. Villla Padierna, where Michelle Obama and her daughter stayed last month, plays host to some of the most lavish weddings and events on the coast, and this evening will be no exception.

Laura from Reviva Weddings and her hard-working team added all the fabulous visual touches, while Heather and Alexandro from Fiestasol Catering provided the wonderful food. As usual, we have to make do with my iPhone snapshots while we wait for the official piccies in a couple of weeks!

This is a photo of a tower of cupcakes we did for a client´s wedding reception at Hotel Don Carlos, Elviria last weekend – the slightly unusual thing about this photo is that it was taken in the hotel´s walk-in refridgerator! That was basically as far as we got, so we await the rather more glamourous official photos in a few weeks!

We received an email a few days ago from Nicola in London, asking if we could bake a dozen Red Velvet Cupcakes for her friend Mel, as she and some friends were flying over to Marbella to celebrate her 40th birthday. Mel, apparently, likes her shoes… as well as partying in Puerto Banus! Glad you had a great time here, ladies – let us know how the cupcakes went down :)

Yesterday, to celebrate the wedding of Kathryn and Andrew, we baked a tower of chocolate cupcakes, topped with a giant cupcake and covered them with sweeties – you remember all the wonderful ones we all used to munch at school (Crunchies, Curly Wurlies, Rolos, Dolly Mixtures, Refreshers, Sherbert Fountains, Smarties etc…). The reception was held at El Oceano Beach Hotel & Spa at Mijas Costa, and it was our first time there – lovely people, very professional set-up… and what a stunning view!

We have just received these beautiful photographs of Claire & Johnathon’s wedding at Finca La Concepcion last month, taken by the amazing Jeremy Standley. It shows how important cake is on a wedding day, and that it always puts smiles on faces!

Chilli Chocolate cupcakes were the hot favourite at last night’s party held for friends and family by England and Liverpool defender Glen Johnson at his new villa in Sotogrande. Laura put on a great evening with flamenco dancers and fire jugglers in the grounds, while the guests tucked into a delicious spread by Fiestasol caterers and Eton Mess, Key Lime Pie and a tower of cupcakes supplied by yours truly!

After the big Stephen Webster party at Marbella Club last week, we got a call this week from his London office, asking us to send a dozen ‘Thank You’ cupcakes to the girls at his boutique in Puerto Banus. The girls, as you can see, were very chuffed and stepped out of their beautiful air conditioned showroom for a moment to give us a wave with their cupcakes!

Last night’s cupcake soiree (!) was ‘celebrity jeweller’ Stephen Webster‘s party at Villa del Mar at Marbella Club, where the security was as tight as the jewellery displays were flamboyant and expensive. 300 glamorous guests gathered as the sun went down and our 300 ‘Purple Velvet’ branded cupcakes were a small but perfectly formed part of a very rock ‘n roll night!

Four times Jeweller of the Year, and Creative Director at Garrard, Webster has a rock star’s image – tattooed, tousled, ears glinting with black diamonds, he is ring-master of a world-wide celebrity circus – no surprise then that the evening was a lavish, glitzy, alcohol-fuelled party. Business as usual in Marbella ;)

As I write this, there is a park in Benahavis full of lively 5 and 6 year olds, running riot at Lucy’s 5th birthday party – whether they eat these very pink cupcakes or throw them at each other remains to be seen, but our Louie is there too, so we will hear all about it soon!

We have just baked and delivered a dozen of these chirpy Chocolate ‘Golf’ Cupcakes with vanilla cream cheese icing as part of some 40th birthday celebrations in La Cala de Mijas – Happy 40th, Andrew!

Yesterday, we were at the breathtaking Villa del Mar at Marbella Club, where the owner’s son, Daniel Shamoon, and his bride Nadine held their wedding reception for 400 guests. We baked Red Velvet and Chocolate cupcakes, and set them up on a pair of six tier towers, trimmed with ivory satin ribbon. We heard the bands doing their soundchecks and saw all the final adjustments being made and, by the time we left, the first guests were being chaufeured to the villa in the Marbella Club buggies. It was a perfect Marbella summer evening, and we look forward to seeing some party pics!

I have just got back from H10 Andalucia Plaza Hotel in Estepona, setting up a tower of Lemon, Vanilla & Chocolate Cupcakes for a wedding reception which will by now be in full flow! Heather from Fiestasol and Laura from Reviva were there making sure all was running smoothly, and I am waiting to see the official photographs by Kris McGuirk, so I can post some proper photos! Anyway, our very best wishes to the gorgeous bride Tracy and lucky husband Gavin, from us all at Cake Marbella :)

Here are a few photos I took while setting up a tower of Chocolate Cupcakes at the gorgeous Finca la Concepcion in Istan, Marbella. There will be some wonderful photos on their way soon, courtesy of Jeremy Standley. Catering the reception was Heather and her team at the excellent Fiestasol, who also planned the whole wedding, and styling was by Marbella’s ‘Fairy Godmother’ Laura Charles at Reviva Weddings. Stunning venue, beautiful sunshine – days like these make me feel very lucky to do what I do, where I do!

We have been promised some photos of the sumptuous Moroccan themed party, so we’ll keep you posted!

We are very happy to post these beautiful photographs of Håkon and Irene’s wedding and reception at Roca Tranquila, Fuengirola recently, taken by excellent wedding and portrait photographer Jeremy Standley. Norwegian Håkon and Irene were a dream to deal with and we were very happy to bake a mixture of Chocolate, Carrot Cake, Red Velvet and Vanilla Cupcakes for their special day – we hear they went down very well! It’s that time of year again – we have just got back from setting up two sumptuous cupcake towers at the fabulous Suite del Mar party, Hotel Puente Romano, to celebrate their official opening for Summer 2010. Marbella’s beautiful people were eating lunch while we were setting up, and we got the distinct feeling that their eyes were on the Chocolate and Red Velvet cupcakes… so we reckon that by now all 160 will already have been devoured!

The cupcakes were FABULOUS!! They looked spectacular and even though I thought a 14 course dinner would fill everyone up, all of the guests flocked to find their cupcake as soon as we cut the cake! The name flags worked a treat and we loved the artwork that you produced for us, making them unique and reflective of us and our passions. The cakes were delicious and perfect for after our meal, light and refreshing, people came back for a second helping of the large cutting cake once their cupcake was devoured!

Really impressed with it all and would heartily recommend to anyone else – it was a pleasure.

What better way to celebrate the first birthday of an adorable little girl than some ‘Enchanted Fairy’ cupcakes! Camille gave me such a beautiful smile as I delivered them this afternoon, I am convinced she knew what was in the shiny gold cake boxes!

Camille’s Mum is fellow blogger ‘Travels with a Gourmet‘, (click the link and check out her fab food blog) and I have a feeling little Camille will follow in her mother’s footsteps with a real passion for good food!

This morning we delivered a box of 12 Carrot and a box of 12 Chocolate cupcakes to Leslie in Marbella, who was giving them as a gift to a friend at her birthday lunch today. Judging by Leslie’s enthusiastic reaction when she opened the boxes this morning, Tiara may only have received one of the two boxes!

Kidz Kingdom at Cancelada was the venue for Maxim’s 3rd Birthday, where we have just delivered a tower of 36 chocolate cupcakes and a chocolate top cake – it was filling up rapidly as we left, so the party should be in full swing as I type this – very noisy and lots of chocolatey mouths – just as a 3rd birthday party should be! Last night saw the opening party at Suite del Mar, at Hotel Puente Romano. A tower of 80 of our Red Velvet cupcakes served as a centrepiece amongst the lush and funky surroundings . With a guest list that has included Prince Harry, Jodie Kidd and Jay Kay, Suite did it again with Marbella’s party people wining, dining and dancing the night away, seeing in the Summer 2009 season in typically chic but laid back style. Now I remember why I live out here!

We have just got back from the serene Amanhavis Hotel in Benahavis, where we have set up a tower of vanilla cupcakes for Richard and Nina, over from Abu Dhabi. Married yesterday, they are having a blessing and dinner at Amanhavis this evening.

These choccie cupcakes didn’t hang around long this morning as a classroom full of cheeky 6 year-olds descended on a birthday box of 24. Happy Birthday Louie, Sonny and Leo!

Chris and Pedro will be selling a selection of our cakes in what is a fusion of cafe, bar and gallery for furniture and artwork made by Pedro – well worth a visit when you are next in the village.
